You might say that the main projects that the OMIA Foundation staff have been active with are our own lives and careers. The Foundation began as a master’s thesis project by President and CEO John Girdwood while he studied organizational management and non-profit administration at Central Michigan University in the early 2000′s. The groundwork was laid so firmly that the Foundation will likely never dissipate, however, there are times when our work slows down a bit. This is usually caused by our network connections becoming lethargic. But, it also occurs when our professional work supersedes our philanthropic effort. It’s one of those situations that is best explained by the phrase “we gotta pay the bills.”

I guess that provides me with a great opportunity to insert the call for volunteers here. We can always use more support! From guest bloggers to grant writers to pro bono web developers, we could use you! Contact John Girdwood if you think you might be able to contribute. Of course, money always helps… you’re welcome to donate via the Pay Pal donor link on the right side bar. In the meantime, check out our current project(s) by hovering over the “project” header link at the top and click on whatever pops up on the drop down. Enjoy viewing our project(s) and remember, nothing on this site would be taking place without volunteers. The OMIA Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 that is fully funded and driven by private donations and random volunteer contributions.
Hey, this ain’t the Bill Gates Foundation…
